Bishkek, Nov. 30, 2023. / Kabar/. Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers - Head of the Presidential Administration of the Kyrgyz Republic Akylbek Zhaparov, as part of a working trip to London (United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland), met with Executive Director of the Citi Group Bank Grant Carson.
Akylbek Zhaparov noted that Citi Group is one of the largest international financial conglomerates, included in the list of world leaders in the field of financial services and managing impressive assets. He also noted that the Kyrgyz Republic is interested in establishing a mutually beneficial and long-term partnership in this direction.
In turn, Executive Director of the Citi Group Bank, Grant Carson, expressed his readiness for cooperation, adding that conducting activities in all regions of the world is beneficial for the bank.
Following the meeting, a memorandum of cooperation was signed between the Ministry of Finance of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Citi Group.
The head of the Kyrgyz Cabinet also met with the head of the market development department of the London Metal Exchange, Robin Martin.
He noted that Kyrgyzstan is interested in developing cooperation with the London Metal Exchange, and sees the potential for an important partnership, in particular, in the area of non-ferrous metals from Kyrgyzstan entering the world market, including the British market, through this exchange.
Robin Martin, in turn, announced the readiness of the London Metal Exchange for trade and economic cooperation with Kyrgyzstan, as well as with other countries of the world.
Akylbek Zhaparov’s working trip to the cities of London and Cardiff (United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland) has ended.
During the visit, he took part in a number of international conferences, and also held meetings with British officials and company executives, as a result of which important decisions were made.
