Bishkek, Dec. 1, 2020. /Kabar/. On Dec. 1, Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Kyrgyzstan, Major General Taalaibek Omuraliye participated in a meeting of the Council of Defense Ministers of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) member states, which was held under the chairmanship of Russia’s Minister of Defense, Army General Sergei Shoygu in a video conference.
According to the press service of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Kyrgyz Republic, during the virtual meeting the sides discussed and exchanged views on the development of cooperation between the CSTO and the United Nations, participation of the CSTO in peacekeeping activities under the auspices of the UN, challenges and threats to military security in the regions of collective security, etc.
At the end of the meeting, a package of documents was agreed on issues of joint logistics and medical support of the CSTO Collective Forces, research on problems of development and application of the aviation component, a plan for development of military cooperation between member states, measures to improve the system of training of personnel for the CSTO government bodies, etc.
Next year, the chairmanship of the Organization will be transferred to the Republic of Tajikistan.
