Kyrgyz Minister of Health takes part in session of WHO Regional Committee for Europe in Rome

Bishkek, Sept. 17, 2018. /Kabar/. Minister of Health of Kyrgyzstan Kosmosbek Cholponbaev is taking part in the 68th session of WHO Regional Committee for Europe, which is taking place in Rome, Italy.

The press service of the Ministry of Health reported that among the most important issues of health care, which are on the session’s agenda, is the report on the state of health care in Europe in 2018:

- implementation of the Road Map on realization of the agenda in the sphere of sustainable development until 2030;

- improvement of the public health care in the WHO European Region with the aim of sustainable development; can people afford to pay for health care services?

- new factual information on financial protection in Europe;

- action plan for enhancing the preparedness and response of the public health care systems in the WHO European Region; strategy in maintaining health and well-being of men in the WHO European Region;

- realization of the Regional framework for surveillance and control of invasive mosquito vectors and re-emerging vector-borne diseases 2014–2020;

- diseases, preventable with vaccines immunization, etc.

Parallel sessions and technical briefings will become a platform for discussing relevant issues, concerning migration and health care in the region; assessment of health literacy; innovations in the health information system; ensuring public health through environmentally sustainable transport; effect of the health systems on ensuring global sustainability, as well as work on the preparation of a European report on the situation in social justice in regard with health. Moreover, the delegates will discuss the impact of the WHO reform on the activity of the WHO European Region.

The solutions and strategic documents, adopted by the Regional Committee, will be a shared commitment for the member-states in the Region, which ensures that the countries will apply the agreed and coordinated approaches to resolving a range of the most acute problems of health care standing before Europe. Moreover, the delegates will approve the WHO-EURO working plan and define priority areas of activity for the next year.
