Bishkek, Sept. 5, 2020. /Kabar/. A delegation of Kyrgyzstan’s Armed Forces, led by Chief of General Staff of the Kyrgyz Armed Forces Rayimberdi Duishenbiev took part in the joint session of defense ministers (heads of defense ministries) of the Commonwealth of Independent States, the Shanghai Cooperation Organization and the Collective Security Treaty Organization.
According to the press service of the General Staff, the meeting was held in Moscow under the chairmanship of the Russian Federation.
The Russian Defense Ministry initiated this meeting to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945.
In the course of the joint meeting, heads of defense ministries of the above organizations reported on topical issues of international, regional security and the fight against the spread of coronavirus infection, as well as exchanged views on the further development of military cooperation in modern conditions.
Following the meeting, the participants adopted a Joint Communiqué and a Statement on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945 and World War II.
Over 15 Decisions have been signed in order to continue planned development of military cooperation between the states of the Organization.
Decisions adopted during the joint session by CIS and CSTO heads of defense ministries will contribute to strengthening mutually beneficial cooperation in the military sphere and will make it possible to implement security measures.
