Bishkek, Nov. 18, 2020. /Kabar/. Secretary of Kyrgyzstan’s Security Council Ryskeldi Musayev participated in 8th meeting of the Security Councils' Secretaries of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) member states, which was held in the format of a video conference, the press service of Kyrgyz president reported.
In his speech on combating new biological threats in the CIS, Ryskeldi Musayev informed the participants about the measures to combat the pandemic being implemented in Kyrgyzstan based on the experience of combating the spread of coronavirus infection
The Kyrgyz side emphasized the need to effectively use the entire potential of the Commonwealth to overcome the socio-economic consequences of the pandemic, as well as to focus on strengthening cooperation in trade and economic sphere, including the development of digital economy, joint implementation of major economic projects, creation of conditions for uninterrupted operation of transport and logistics infrastructure and its further development, development of financial and monetary response measures, especially for protection of vulnerable people.
In addition, the meeting discussed issues related to countering challenges and threats in the information sphere, artificial intelligence and its importance in ensuring national security, the situation in Afghanistan and its impact on Central Asian security, and changing forms and methods of destructive influence of foreign countries in the CIS space.
Secretaries of the Security Councils of Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Moldova, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Russia, as well as Chairman of the CIS Executive Committee Sergei Lebedev and Secretary General of the Collective Security Treaty Organizations (CSTO) Stanislav Zas took part in the online event.
