Head of Supreme Court meets with EU representatives in Kyrgyzstan

Bishkek, Oct. 9, 2019. / Kabar /. Chairwoman of the Supreme Court of Kyrgyzstan Gulbara Kaliyeva met with representatives of the European Union in the Kyrgyz Republic.

The meeting was attended by Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Court Nurgul Asanova, Director of the Higher School of Justice Elmira Baitikova, Head of the Information Technology Division Nurkan Raimbaev, Head of the European Union Rule of Law in the Kyrgyz Republic Phase 2 Stefanos Kareklas, and experts: Radost Toftisova -Materon, Christoph Kopecky and Gulnura Toleyeva.

The service of the Kyrgyz Supreme Court said that during the meeting, a discussion was held on the main activities of the Higher School of Justice. Kalieva noted the need to focus on the online training of judges, on the training and organization of trainings from a distance through video-conferencing, and also shared the idea of ​​creating Higher School of Justice branch in the southern region of the country.

During the conversation, issues related to the implementation of the automated-information system (AIS) court system were also considered. At the end of this year, this system should work in the courts of second instance.

It should be noted that the first attempts to introduce this system began in 2017 and currently it successfully works in 64 courts of first instance.

The implementation of the AIS court system is carried out with the support of the European Union's Rule of Law - Phase 2 Program of the European Union.
