Heads of border areas of Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan and Tajikistan discuss cooperation

Osh, Jan. 28, 2019. / Kabar /. A meeting of leaders of three border countries of Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan and Tajikistan was held in the city of Kanibadam, Tajikistan, the Batken regional state administration reported.

The meeting was attended by governor of Batken oblast (Kyrgyzstan) Abish Khalmurzaev, akim of Fergana region (Uzbekistan) Shukhrat Ganiyev and chairman of Sogd region (Tajikistan) Rajabba Ahmadzoda.

During the meetings, the issues of cooperation in the field of economy, tourism and conduction joint sports and sporting events were discussed. They emphasized the need for cooperation in the field of cultural interaction.

During the meeting, the heads of the three border areas touched upon the creation and operation of joint ventures. Earlier, the leaders of the border areas and entrepreneurs agreed on the opening of joint processing enterprises in the agricultural sector, an enterprise for the production of building materials and the production of textiles.

The meeting was held on the basis of a cooperation plan between Batken oblast and Sogd oblast to strengthen neighboring relations and friendship for 2017–2020, as well as on the basis of a bilateral cooperation plan of Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan for 2016–2020.
