DUSHANBE, 25.02.2019. (NIAT Khovar) – The IV Regional Meeting of the Heads of the Border Agencies of the Central Asian Region of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) will be held tomorrow in Dushanbe, reports the head of the press center of the Border Troops of the State Committee for National Security of Tajikistan Muhammad Ulugkhojaev.
“Participants “will discuss the issues relating to the enhancing of cooperation within the Council of Commanders of the Border Troops with the working structures of international and regional organizations in order to increase the effectiveness of countering new challenges and threats to border security,” said Ulugkhojaev.
During the meeting, the current situation will also be discussed and additional measures will be developed to counter the threats to border security emanating from the territory of Afghanistan.
An International Scientific and Practical Conference is also planned on the theme “Effectively resisting manifestations of international terrorism, extremism, drug smuggling, illegal migration and human trafficking as the main threats to border security at the external borders of the CIS member states”.
Representatives of border agencies and educational institutions of the CIS member states of the border profile, as well as competent authorities of the Commonwealth and international organizations are invited to attend the conference.
