Heads of CIS Chambers of Commerce and Industry meet in Moscow

Bishkek, Dec. 24, 2024. / Kabar /. The Council of Heads of CIS Chambers of Commerce and Industry held a meeting in Moscow.

The press service of the Chambers of Commerce and Industry (CCI) of Kyrgyzstan said that this is the first face-to-face meeting in the last five years, which brought together representatives of the chambers of commerce and industry of Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Armenia, Belarus and Mongolia (in observer status).

The main topic of the meeting was the discussion of a new level of integration and the role of chambers of commerce and industry in expanding mutual trade flows between the CIS countries.

As part of the event, a cooperation agreement was signed, which is aimed at strengthening the interaction of chambers, developing trade and economic ties and supporting business in the region.

The President of the CCI of the Kyrgyz Republic Temir Sariev thanked the Russian side for the initiative to hold the meeting and proposed creating a permanent platform for communication in the format of video conferences. In his opinion, regular online meetings held quarterly will allow promptly resolving current issues and strengthening coordination between the chambers. In addition, during the visit, Temir Sariev met with Minister of Economic Development of the Russian Federation Maxim Reshetnikov. During the talks, the parties discussed Russia's foreign economic guidelines in priority markets of foreign countries, as well as prospects for trade and economic cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and Russia.
