Bishkek, March 31, 2023. / Kabar/. On March 31, 2023, Samat Isabekov, Chairman of the Customs Service (CCS) under the Ministry of Finance of Kyrgyzstan, had a telephone conversation with the head of the State Customs Committee of Belarus, Vladimir Orlovsky, regarding the accumulation of vehicles heading to the Kyrgyz Republic at the Belarusian customs.
During the conversation, the parties came to an understanding on the need to carry out work on the accelerated passage of accumulated cars, the State Customs Service of the Kyrgyz Republic said in a statement.
The media has repeatedly reported information from drivers-carriers that since the beginning of 2023, Belarus has been detaining wagons and car transporters carrying cars intended for Kyrgyzstan. It was reported that more than 500 cars heading to Kyrgyzstan were detained without drawing up acts or protocols substantiating the reason for the detention. The reason for additional checks was a significant underestimation of the cost of the car in the accompanying documents.
