Heads of Ministries of Education of Kyrgyzstan and Russia discuss preparation and holding of I forum of rectors of two countries

Bishkek, Feb. 1, 2019. /Kabar/. At a meeting in Moscow, Minister of Education and Science of Kyrgyzstan Gulmira Kudaiberdieva and Minister of Science and Higher Education of Russia Mikhail Kotyukov discussed the agenda of the First Rectors Forum, which will be held in Bishkek in March of this year, the press service of the Ministry of Education of the Kyrgyz Republic reported.

Kudaiberdieva said that the forum will allow to expand cooperation in the field of higher education.

“Interaction in the field of education between our countries has a long history. Interesting experience of cooperation has been accumulated at all levels of education, various joint projects are planned. The Russian-Kyrgyz consortium of technical universities is already working in the field of higher education. Now we could spread the experience of such interaction across the universities of the humanitarian spectrum,” the head of the Ministry of Education of the Kyrgyz Republic believes.

Kotyukov, in turn, proposed inviting to the forum not only the rectors of the two countries, but also representatives of the scientific community.

“I think that the participation of scientists from both countries will significantly expand the list of issues that can be discussed at the forum,” he said.

The First Rectors Forum of Kyrgyzstan and Russia will be held in Bishkek at the end of March 2019. Within the framework, it is planned to sign the Cooperation Agreement of the Association of Higher Education Institutions of Kyrgyzstan and the Russian Union of Rectors.

As part of his working visit to the Russian Federation, Minister of Education of the Kyrgyz Republic Gulmira Kudaiberdieva also had a meeting with Minister of Education of the Russian Federation Olga Vasilyeva on the adaptation of textbooks, advanced training of teachers, etc.
