Bishkek, March 6, 2024. /Kabar/. As part of the working trip of the delegation of the National Bank and state commercial banks of Kyrgyzstan to the city of London, a meeting was held between chairmen of the National Bank of the Kyrgyz Republic Kubanychbek Bokontaev and the Bank of England Andrew Bailey.
The Kyrgyz National Bank reported that the heads of central banks discussed issues of monetary policies pursued in the UK and the Kyrgyz Republic. Particular attention during the discussion was paid to emerging inflation factors and expectations regarding the future direction of monetary policy of regulators.
The parties exchanged views and agreed to strengthen further bilateral interaction in matters of monetary policy and technical cooperation in the main areas of activity of the National Bank.
During the visit, the delegation of the National Bank held an extended meeting with experts from the Bank of England, during which the parties discussed issues of banking regulation, the development of payment systems and digital currencies of central banks, as well as the practice of using analytical tools for making monetary decisions.
