Health Minister Beishenaliyev on measures to be taken during elections and referendum

Bishkek, Jan. 5, 2021. /Kabar/. At a briefing held on Tuesday at the Government House, Kyrgyzstan’s Minister of Health Alymkadyr Beishenaliyev told about the measures to be taken during the presidential elections and referendum on Jan. 10.

According to him, in order to ensure sanitary and epidemiological safety and protection of health of Kyrgyz citizens, the Ministry of Health together with the Central Elections Commission has developed “Algorithm of actions to ensure sanitary and epidemiological safety and protection of citizens' health from COVID-19 during the preparation and conduct of elections and referendum in the Kyrgyz Republic on Jan.10, 2021".

"According to the above Algorithm, the CEC provides all members of election commissions, including those working with voters at home, with medical masks, gloves, face shields,” the minister said.

He noted that in order to quickly resolve organizational issues during the preparation and conduct of elections and referendum in the Kyrgyz Republic on Jan. 10, the Health Ministry has developed a plan of action, which reflects the consolidation of medical workers in each polling station in two shifts, providing all health-care organizations with beds for emergency hospitalization of the injured and sick, to provide them with the necessary skilled medical care.

Alymkadyr Beishenaliyev also added the creation of irreducible stock of medicines, disinfectants is provided, as well as use of non-contact thermometers for tremoscanning of PEC members and voters, ensuring round-the-clock duty of ambulance teams on election day.
