Bishkek, July 12, 2021. / Kabar /. “We cannot impose quarantine in Kyrgyzstan,” Minister of Health and Social Development of the country Alymkadyr Beishenaliev told on air of Birinchi Radio.

He said that the quarantine was introduced last year, which severely affected the country's economy.

“If we introduce quarantine, there will be a crisis, we are not able to pay salaries, benefits, pensions. We cannot impose quarantine. On the contrary, the tourist season was opened in Issyk-Kul. Our doctors are working there hard. As you can see, there are not many sick people there,” he said.

The curfew was introduced in Kyrgyzstan for one month and half when the first cases were detected on March 18, 2020. The Central Asian country declared an emergency on March 22 last year and this measure is still in force.
