Bishkek, Jan. 14, 2022. / Kabar /. Head of the public health department of the Ministry of Health of Kyrgyzstan Ainura Akmatova, noted during the briefing the increase of citizens wishing to be vaccinated against COVID-19.
According to her data, over the past day in Kyrgyzstan, 7,517 people received a vaccine against COVID-19, of which 3,494 people were vaccinated with the first dose, and 4,230 with the second.
“In total, 1 million 258 thousand 477 people in the republic were vaccinated with the first dose, 1 million 51 thousand 159 people were vaccinated with the second dose,” she said.
In addition, the head of the department indicated that since the beginning of the campaign to vaccinate the population against COVID-19, 81.6% of medical workers, 88.9% of education employees and 31% of citizens over 60 years of age have been vaccinated.
“In total, the priority group of the population includes medical, social workers, representatives of law enforcement agencies, citizens suffering from chronic diseases, educational workers, civil servants and citizens over 60 years old. In addition, at present, by the recommendation of the World Health Organization, the priority group also includes children from 16 to 18 years old, pregnant and lactating women. Also, in order to increase protection against the virus, the Ministry of Health decided to vaccinate the population with a booster dose of the vaccine,” Akmatova said.
In conclusion, she also urged citizens to get vaccinated and follow basic sanitary and epidemiological rules.
