Health Ministry recommends population not to participate in mass celebrations of New Year

Bishkek, Dec. 22, 2020 / Kabar /. The epidemiological situation in the world remains tense, head of the public health care department of the country's Health Ministry Ainura Akmatova told during a briefing at the Government House.

There are alarming reports of the spread of the new mutating coronavirus in countries such as the UK, Denmark, the Netherlands and Australia, she said.

“We urge citizens to be responsible and wear masks, use antiseptics, and maintain social distance. Scientists are already reporting that the new virus is 70% more infectious than the original version. In this regard, we urge citizens not to participate in mass celebrations of the New Year and avoid crowded places,” Akmatova said.

She noted that entrepreneurs who are involved in organizing the New Year's holidays are encouraged to take into account the size of the room and gather an appropriate number of people so that the participants maintain a social distance.
