Bishkek, July 9, 2020 / Kabar /. Head of the public health department at the Ministry of Health of the Kyrgyz Republic, Ainura Akmatova, said when Kyrgyzstan should expect a second wave of COVID-19.
She noted that the SARSr-CoV virus was detected in China in November-December 2019. It was registered in the Kyrgyz Republic in March. Later, emergency mode was introduced on the territory of the republic. The nature of the epidemic was different. After the state of emergency in the Kyrgyz Republic was lifted, the epidemiological situation in all regions of the country and in large cities, where the population density was very large, became more complicated, and the number of patients with community-acquired pneumonia increased.
“We can’t say that this is the first or second wave. These are conventions of terminology that were introduced by scientists. And the epidemiological process itself is different depending on the season,” Akmatova said.
The head of the department informed that international researchers note that until collective immunity is strengthened, this disease can last up to two years.
