Healthcare system of Kyrgyzstan fully prepared for rise in incidence of COVID-19

Bishkek, Jan. 13, 2022. / Kabar /. The healthcare system of Kyrgyzstan is fully prepared for a possible 4th rise in the incidence of COVID-19, head of the public health department of the Ministry of Health of the country Ainura Akmatova told at a briefing on Thursday.

She said that the epidemiological situation in the country is under control.

“The reserve of the ministry has all the necessary beds, medicines, masks and personal protective equipment for 2-3 months,” she added.

6 enterprises for the production of medical masks and 2 enterprises producing personal protective equipment have been deployed in the country.

Kyrgyzstan has announced its first cases of the Omicron strain of coronavirus infection on Jan. 12 and the start of the 4th wave of COVID-19.
