How many Kyrgyz citizens are in prisons abroad?

There are 1 thousand 782 citizens of Kyrgyzstan in prisons of Russia, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, China, Germany and Turkey, Prosecutor General Otkurbek Djamshitov told during the meeting of the Committee on Constitutional Legislation, State Structure, Judicial and Legal Issues and Regulations of the Kyrgyz Parliament.

According to data of the Prosecutor General, in 2018, the supervisory authority identified 38 thousand 971 violations of the laws, for the elimination of which 14 thousand 20 acts of prosecutorial response were made. “9 thousand 948 persons were brought to disciplinary and administrative responsibility, 962 criminal cases of corruption were initiated,” Jamshitov said.
