Bishkek, April 23, 2021 . / Kabar / . Kyrgyzstan will receive the first batch of AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine in May as part of participation in the COVAX program, director of the Republican Immunoprophylaxis Center Gulbara Ishenapysova told Kabar News Agency.
She said the country has already received 420 thousand syringes for vaccination.
Ishenapysova explained today the Government is in the process of finalizing the agreement on the vaccine. She noted the state must sign an agreement on liability. That is, a document where the responsibility of the state and the manufacturer is spelled out.
"This document cannot be signed quickly. Prime minister instructed to create an interdepartmental working group of lawyers to study this agreement. After that, it will undergo the approval procedure in the departments. Further, prime minister should sign the order and pass it to COVAX,” the specialist said adding that the document is in final stage.
The first batch of AstraZeneca should arrive in May in the amount of 420 thousand doses.
