Bishkek, Oct. 5, 2021 . / Kabar / . Hungary will increase quotas for Kyrgyz students at its universities, and Kyrgyzstanis will be able to secure Schengen visas at the Embassy of Hungary in Kyrgyzstan, the press service of the Kyrgyz Foreign Ministry reported Tuesday.
During a meeting of Foreign Ministers of Kyrgyzstan Ruslan Kazakbaev and Hungary Peter Szijjártó officials agreed to increase quotas for Kyrgyz students to study in universities of Hungary up to 200 places annually.
Kazakbaev expressed readiness to receive State Secretary for the Hungarian Diplomatic Hungary and Stipendium Hungaricum Program at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Orsolya Pacsay-Tomassich in Kyrgyzstan in October this year and to hold in Kyrgyzstan Forum of the Association of Rectors of Higher Education Institutions of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Hungarian Conference of Rectors.
In addition, the foreign ministers of the two countries agreed that the Hungarian Embassy in Kyrgyzstan from October this year will issue Schengen visas to citizens of Kyrgyzstan to Hungary and several other EU member states, which will greatly facilitate the process of obtaining visas for citizens of Kyrgyzstan.
The sides also discussed the situation in Afghanistan.
Ruslan Kazakbaev informed his Hungarian counterpart about the initiative of the republic to provide 500 visas for Afghan youth, women to study in Kyrgyz universities.
Following documents were signed as a result of the meeting:
1. Agreement between the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan and the Government of Hungary on the Stipendium Hungaricum program (exchange of notes).
2. Memorandum between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan and the Ministry of Foreign Economic Relations of Hungary on the establishment of the Kyrgyz-Hungarian Strategic Council.
3. Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Education and Science of Kyrgyzstan and the Ministry of Foreign Economic Relations and Foreign Affairs of Hungary on cooperation on the Stipendium Hungaricum program for 2022-2024.
4. Memorandum of Understanding between the Diplomatic Academy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic and Corvinus University.
5. Agreement on the provision of premises for the use of the Kyrgyz Embassy in Hungary to the Kyrgyz side.
