Bishkek, Jan. 28, 2021. /Kabar/. "At this solemn moment of taking the oath, I am keenly aware of the enormous responsibility to my people - a people with more than two thousand-year history, who courageously were creating the Great Power in the vast expanses of Asia – for its present and future," Kyrgyzstan’s President Sadyr Zhaparov said in his inauguration speech.
Zhaparov considers it his duty and the meaning of his whole life to serve and be responsible for the destiny of people.
"The people's faith and hope for a better future, as well as the determination of our people, were stronger than the danger of a pandemic. As a result, the rebellious people achieved the invalidation of the results of the parliamentary elections and the resignation of the president and the government," he said.
Sadyr Zhaparov noted that in the most difficult situation, when the country was on the brink of chaos and lawlessness, it was possible on Oct. 5, 2020 to stabilize the situation for the sake of national unity and peace, achieving a common goal together with the people.
The inauguration ceremony of President-elect Sadyr Zhaparov has begun in Bishkek today.
More than a thousand people take part in the official ceremony. In particular, prominent figures of the country, deputies of the Jogorku Kenesh, ex-presidents, ex-speakers of parliament, ex-prime ministers, heads of confessions of Kyrgyzstan, the diplomatic corps, representatives of international organizations, elder people and ordinary citizens have been invited. Also, Zhaparov's opponents at the last elections were invited to the ceremony.
Sadyr Zhaparov won the Jan. 10 early presidential elections with 79.2% of the votes.
