Bishkek, June 12, 2024. /Kabar/. The Islamic Development Bank (IDB) is ready to consider financing projects in the field of renewable energy sources (RES) and infrastructure in Kyrgyzstan, the press service of the Ministry of Economy and Commerce of the Kyrgyz Republic reported.
Earlier Minister of Economy of Kyrgyzstan Daniyar Amangeldiev and Minister of Finance of the Kyrgyz Republic Almaz Baketaev met with President of the IDB Mohammed Al-Jasser as part of his visit to Kyrgyzstan.
During the meeting, issues of bilateral cooperation between the IDB and Kyrgyzstan were discussed. Issues in the field of socio-economic development of the country, poverty reduction, mortgage lending, energy, renewable energy sources and the construction of logistics centers were also discussed. Much attention was paid to the development of the country's energy sector, in particular, to the construction of Kambarata HPP-1.
The head of the IDB expressed interest in implementing projects in the field of renewable energy sources and infrastructure and announced his readiness to consider financing issues.
Following the meeting, the parties agreed to continue close cooperation in the implementation of joint projects.
