IGCF 2019 concludes its work in UAE

Sharjah, March 22, 2019 / Kabar /. The 8th edition of the International Government Communication Forum (IGCF) is held at Expo Centre in Sharjah, UAE on March 20-21.

The two-day forum was held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohamed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah.

The forum, organized by the Sharjah Government Media Bureau, brought together prominent figures and top officials from around the world, including heads of state and governments, thought leaders, directors of regional and international organizations, representatives of civil society and study and research centres, media personnel and students of mass communication and media.

70 speakers delivered speeches and discussed contemporary challenges of government communication during 37 discussion panels, inspirational speeches, sessions, workshops and interactive forums.

On the first day of the Forum, the main session was held under the title ‘Human Behaviour: New Dimensions for Change Communication”.

Famous TV host Larry King, who was expected to speak on Media as a Driving Force for Human Capabilities Towards Development could not attend the forum due to his health condition and sent a video message.

The inspiration speech was delivered on the first day of the forum by motivational speaker, filmmaker and social activist Prince Ea.

Four panel discussions were held on the second day of IGCF 2019. Besides, Michelle Gielan, an expert and a researcher in positive psychology, and author of Broadcasting Happiness spoke with inspiring speech on the second day.

In addition within the forum the the Sharjah Government Communication Award was held at Al Majaz Amphitheatre.

The Award determines the outstanding achievements by individuals and organizations in the government communication sector in the UAE and the Arab region.

IGCF is one of the key initiatives by the Sharjah Government Media Bureau. It was first launched in 2012, and since then it has been organised annually. IGCF is the first-of-its-kind platform in the region that brings together global government communication experts to explore best practices in the field.
