Bishkek, Nov.29, 2019. /Kabar/. President of Kyrgyzstan Sooronbay Jeenbekov on Nov. 29, 2019 attended the Second Consultative Meeting of Heads of Central Asian States in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.
At the narrow and extended format meetings, heads of delegations discussed topical issues of interaction, including the expansion of regional cooperation in political, trade and economic, investment, transport and communication, cultural and humanitarian and other spheres.
President Sooronbay Jeenbekov noted Kyrgyzstan attaches great importance to strengthening cooperation between the Central Asian states. He expressed interest in developing a systematic political dialogue in the five-sided format.
He emphasized Kyrgyzstan advocates equal consideration of interests and needs of all countries in the region in the water and energy sector. The President of Kyrgyzstan proposed to unite efforts on development and introduction of mutually beneficial mechanisms of compensation for water resources accumulation in Central Asia.
The Kyrgyz leader claimed willingness to hold the next Consultative Meeting in Kyrgyzstan in 2020.
Following the results of the Meeting, Central Asian leaders adopted a joint statement of the Second Consultative Meeting of Heads of Central Asian States.
First President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev was awarded the status of Honorary Chairman of the Consultative Meeting of Heads of Central Asian States.
Tajik President Emomali Rahmon was elected President of the International Fund for Saving the Aral Sea.
As part of the Consultative Meeting, President Sooronbay Jeenbekov met with his Uzbek counterpart Shavkat Mirziyoyev, and discussed the prospects of bilateral cooperation between the countries.
Also, Kyrgyz President Sooronbay Jeenbekov together with heads of delegations took part in the ceremony of laying flowers at the monument of first President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov and planting trees on the Alley of Honorary Guests at the Kuksaroy residence.
The Second Consultative Meeting of Heads of Central Asian State in Tashkent was attended by Presidents of Kyrgyzstan-Sooronbay Jeenbekov, Tajikistan-Emomali Rahmon, Turkmenistan- Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow, Uzbekistan- Shavkat Mirziyoyev, as well as First President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev.
