Bishkek, Dec. 29, 2020 /Kabar/. With the assistance of the OSCE Programme Office in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan’s State Agency for Local Self-Government and Inter-Ethnic Relations (SALSGIR) held on Monday a meeting to discuss a draft Action Plan for the implementation of the Kyrgyz Zharany (Kyrgyz Citizen) Concept for the Development of Civic Identity for 2021-2026.
The main purpose of this event was to adopt proposals from members of the Council of the People’s Assembly of Kyrgyzstan on the draft Action Plan for the implementation of the Concept for the Development of Civic Identity.
At the event, SALSGIR Director Bakhtiyar Saliyev briefed the participants on the main directions of the Concept and called for specific proposals for the Action Plan of the Concept.

The participants of the event made a number of recommendations, on the basis of which relevant proposals to the draft Action Plan for the implementation of the Concept were developed through discussion. In particular, the draft includes proposals on strengthening of statehood, development of the state language and linguistic diversity, love for the fatherland and promotion of the concept of civic identity of the Kyrgyz citizen.

The meeting was attended by representatives of the Office of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic, the expert community, the National Academy of Sciences of the Kyrgyz Republic, and members of the Council of Kyrgyzstan’s People’s Assembly.
