Bishkek, June 19, 2024. / Kabar/. The implementation of the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway project from transit traffic will replenish the country's budget by $200 million, expert Erkin Abdrazakov told Kabar Agency.

He said that the project will also affect the volume of exports.

“The feasibility study for the construction of this railway has already been developed, and it is almost ready for launching. More than 300 km of railway tracks will pass through the territory of Kyrgyzstan and further goes to Uzbekistan. According to our calculations, the country’s budget will receive about 200 million US dollars from transit traffic through our republic alone. Plus, if you add exports and revenue from passenger transportation, there will be a good profit. If the railway is built, then we will have the opportunity to access major seaports of the Indian and Pacific Oceans, as well as industrial centers. Therefore, I am confident that this railway will turn into a strategically important road,” Abdrazakov said.

The economist noted that the railway is the safest transport. Excellent conditions for transportation will be created for carriers all year round.

“First of all, the railway will be able to increase import and export figures. Cooperation with such strategic partners as Uzbekistan and China will be strengthened. Secondly, the flow of passengers arriving in Kyrgyzstan will increase, which in turn has a good impact on the tourism sector,” he said.
