In 2020, number of crimes 25% down compared to 2019: Kyrgyzstan's Prosecutor General

Bishkek, Feb. 5, 2021. / Kabar /. In 2020, 31,211 crimes were registered in Kyrgyzstan, which is 25% less compared to 2019, Prosecutor General of the republic Kurmankul Zulushev said at a press conference on Friday.

3 thousand 31 out of the total number of crimes are especially grave ones, in 2019 there were 3 thousand 55.

172 facts of murders were also recorded, 1 thousand 400 - theft of another's property, 176 facts of bribes, 109 facts of bribes, 795 facts of crimes related to drugs.

A total of 24,320 people committed crimes in 2020, of which 1,31 were minors, 4,65 were women, and 209 were previously convicted.

"In 2020, 3 thousand 71 inspections were conducted by the prosecutor's office against state bodies, which resulted in the detection of 6 thousand 97 violations. A total of 661 criminal cases were initiated," the Prosecutor General added.
