In 2024, record volume of housing expected to be commissioned in Kyrgyzstan

According to the Eurasian Economic Commission, the construction industry in Kyrgyzstan is showing significant growth: volumes have increased by 31.1%, Director of the State Agency of Architecture, Construction and Housing and Communal Services of Kyrgyzstan Nurdan Oruntaev said during a press conference on the results of 2024.

He referred to the data of the National Statistical Committee that in 2024 it is planned to put into operation 2 million 27 thousand square meters of housing, which will exceed the record figures of the Soviet period.

Oruntaev cited the following figures for comparison. In 1985, 1 million 96 thousand square meters of housing was built, in 1990 - 1 million 560 thousand square meters, which was previously the maximum result.

In addition, in 2024, the State Agency of Architecture, Construction and Housing and Communal Services actively worked on the development of the country's infrastructure. Special attention was paid to the construction of social facilities, improvement of state regulation in the construction sector and increase of capital investments in the industry.

“Within the framework of the approved list of objects for 2024, financing in the amount of KGS 25.4 billion was provided for the development of regional infrastructure and construction of social facilities. Of these, KGS 11.6 billion have been allocated to date,” Oruntaev said.

During the year, construction and reconstruction of 230 objects was completed, including: 100 schools, 45 kindergartens, 16 medical institutions, 9 cultural facilities, 16 sports complexes, 12 residential buildings, 22 water supply facilities, 10 other infrastructure projects.
