In five years, over 146 thsd Kyrgyzstanis changed their names

Bishkek, Feb. 4, 2021. /Kabar/. Following the results of 2016, the State Registration Service (SRS) of the Kyrgyz Republic registered 37 thousand 206 changes of surname, name and patronymic name.

According to the SRS press service, in 2017, 33 thousand 430 citizens decided to change their name, in 2018 - 28 thousand 246, in 2019 - 28 thousand 153 and in 2020 - 19 thousand 122.

Change of surname, name and patronymic are subject to state registration by the body of civil registration.

After changing the data it is necessary to change within the month the passport. It is not allowed to register a change of surname, first name and patronymic at the same time.

Citizens are obliged to exchange their identity documents within one month.
