New regulations are being enacted in Georgia aimed at reducing environmental pollution on October 1, Mice Times reported.
Since Monday, the production, import and sale of plastic bags with a thickness of less than 15 microns is prohibited in Georgia, while now the manufacturers are obliged to apply the logo of the company to each package.
Since April 2019 production, import and sale of any plastic bags in Georgia will be completely banned. Only biodegradable and compostable bags have been approved by the Georgian government.
If the rules are violated, the subjects will be fined 500 lari (about $ 200), and their goods will be confiscated. A repeated violation provides for a fine of 1000 lari (more than 380 dollars).
