Bishkek, Sept. 20, 2017 / Kabar /. For the first half of 2017, the country's GDP grew by 6.7%, and the volume of exports increased by 30%, president of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Kyrgyzstan Marat Sharshekeyev said during the event dedicated to the Day of the Entrepreneur.
According to his data, in 2016 the country's GDP grew by 3.8%, while exports grew by 17%.
He also said that it is necessary to further intensify the relationship between business and the state.
"According to experts, all organized business structures cover not more than 17% of all economic entities. Today in Kyrgyzstan there are about 100 associations of entrepreneurs, and in some industries their number exceeds more than a dozen," he said.
Sharshekeyev noted that most business associations in Kyrgyzstan do not have sufficient capacity for qualitative promotion of their members' interests at the level of legal, expert analytical support of various business initiatives, and that this does not allow effectively lobbying and defending the interests of business. To solve this problem, the Chamber made certain proposals to the Ministry of Economy.
