Bishkek, Jan. 19, 2021. /Kabar/. A total of eight employees of Kyrgyzstan’s Ministry of Emergency Situations died from the COVID-19 coronavirus infection, Deputy Minister Kalys Akhmatov said at a briefing.
According to him, despite providing workers with personal protection equipment and strict compliance with all sanitary requirements, the first case of infection among employees was registered on June 14, 2020.
"Now the number of those infected has reached 354 employees, of whom 191 employees were infected with COVID-19 and 163 with pneumonia. Currently, 344 employees have recovered," Akhmatov reported.
The first case of novel coronavirus was detected in Kyrgyzstan on March 18, 2020. As of today, the tally of infections has reached 83,268, and 79,249 of them have recovered, while death toll stands at 1390.
