In Kyrgyzstan, pregnant women not yet to be vaccinated against coronavirus

Bishkek, July 21, 2021 . / Kabar /. In Kyrgyzstan, pregnant and lactating women will not yet be vaccinated against COVID-19, director of the Republican Immunoprophylaxis Center Gulbara Ishenapysova told Kabar News Agency.

The World Health Organization (WHO) has recently given recommendations on vaccinating pregnant women.

"However, we have decided not to vaccinate women. Because we are only guided by the instructions that come with the vaccine. We received a translation today and for now we intend to stick with this strategy and not to vaccinate pregnant and lactating women for the time being," Ishenapysova said.

Nevertheless, mass vaccinations around the world are monitored on an ongoing basis.

“No severe side effects from Sinopharm and Sputnik V vaccines have been reported in Kyrgyzstan. Patients report only mild headaches, weakness, and nausea,” the immunologist said.
