The volume of industrial production in January-December 2021 amounted to more than KGS 357 billion and increased by 9% compared to the previous year, Chairman of the National Statistics Committee of Kyrgyzstan Baktybek Kudaibergenov said during a press conference on Friday.
He added that excluding enterprises developing the Kumtor deposit, the volume of industrial production totaled KGS 198 billion and increased by 15.6%.
Kudaibergenov noted that compared to January-December last year, the volume of industrial production increased due to growth in the production of refined petroleum products, rubber and plastic products, other non-metallic mineral products, wood and paper products, printing activities, in the production of food products (including beverages) and tobacco products and mining of minerals.
"Negative trends were observed in the production of pharmaceutical and chemical products, textile production, also the production of clothing and footwear, leather and leather goods," the head of the Statistics Committee noted.
He also added that the gross output of agriculture in 2021 was more than KGS 324 billion and decreased by 5% compared to the last year due to a decrease in the production of crop production.
