Bishkek, Jan. 25, 2019. /Kabar/. In recent years, registration of foreigners has increased 6-fold, Chairman of the State Registration Service Alina Shaikova told during a government meeting.

She said that according to the data, there has recently been a steady trend of registration of foreign citizens. Since 2010, this figure has increased, if earlier about 70 thousand foreigners were registered, in recent years, 450 thousand people.

“I would like to note that this is the number of only those who are officially registered. At the same time, we have a visa-free regime with 45 countries, for which 60 days is enough – this is the period during which you can be in Kyrgyzstan without registration. The greatest number of guests come to us from South Korea – 6.5 thousand people, USA – 4.5 thousand people, Germany, Canada, and so on,” Shaikova said.

She further added that in 8 years 4,777 residence permits have been issued for citizens of other countries.
