In which cases emergency can be introduced in Kyrgyzstan? Government’s response

Bishkek, Mar.17, 2020. /Kabar/. During today’s briefing, Kyrgyzstan’s Deputy Prime Minister Altynai Omurbekova told about the circumstances under which a state of emergency may be declared in the country.

She explained the state of emergency is divided into several types: republican, oblast and regional.

"If suddenly case of infection with coronavirus is registered in the country, for example, in a certain area, then this area will be encircled, and state of emergency will be introduced there," she said.

Omurbekova also added the country is doing what is necessary to maintain a favorable epidemiological situation.

“We have enough testers to diagnose the virus. Japan has provided us with additional testers, and China also expressed its desire to provide testers. There are about 644 artificial lung ventilators in the country," the deputy PM said, and noted about 2 thousand beds have been prepared throughout the republic.

Besides, Omurbekova stressed the Health Ministry and the World Health Organization have worked out a readiness plan, there is action of proceeding.
