Bishkek, Nov. 24, 2017 / Kabar/. The inauguration ceremony of President Sooronbai Zheenbekov has started in Kyrgyzstan.
The inauguration ceremony is taking place at Ala-Archa state residence’s Enesai reception house in Bishkek.
Today for the first time in Kyrgyzstan there is a peaceful transfer of power of one president to another.
Almazbek Atambayev worked as the president of Kyrgyzstan from Dec. 1, 2011. Sooronbai Zheenbekov was elected on Oct. 15, 2017.
According to the Constitution of Kyrgyzstan, a person is elected to the presidency once for a period of 6 years.
450 people were invited to the inauguration ceremony, including Heroes of Kyrgyzstan, representatives of the public, creative and scientific intelligentsia, deputies of the Jogorku Kenesh, members of the Government, diplomatic corps, representatives of international organizations.
The inauguration ceremony includes taking the oath of President-elect Sooronbai Zheenbekov, handing him the certificate, the Breastplate and the Standard of the Head of State.
At the end of the inauguration ceremony, a three-time artillery salvo will be fired in the capital of Kyrgyzstan - Bishkek.
Then Atambaev and Zheenbekov will go to the building of the Jogorku Kenesh, where a guard of honor will be built.
Then they will head to the office of the President.
