Inauguration will be modest, money should be spent on people's needs: Zhaparov

Bishkek, Jan. 22, 2021. /Kabar/. Kyrgyzstan's President-elect Sadyr Zhaparov commented on the issues related to the organization of the inauguration ceremony of the head of state, the press service of the Kyrgyz president reported.

In his address to the people of Kyrgyzstan, Zhaparov stressed the need to refrain from events that burden the country's economy due to political situation that has developed since the October events and the economic, financial and epidemiological situation in the republic.

"I express my gratitude to the Organizing Committee, which developed a plan of events that is consistent with established traditions, standards, and procedures for the inauguration of the Head of State," the president-elect said in his address.

Sadyr Zhaparov added he has decided to give up a special motorcade, banquet and other organizational events, which entail large financial expenses, emphasizing the need to consider and implement only the legally required mandatory procedures for assuming the office of president.

"The state must focus all of its attention on the use of public funds in support of the people and their needs," concluded Zhaparov.

The inauguration ceremony of the newly elected president will take place on Jan. 28 at the National Philharmonic named after Satylganov.

According to the voting results, presidential candidate Sadyr Zhaparov received 1 million 105 thousand 248 votes, which is 79.20%, i.e. more than half of the votes of all voters who participated in the elections.
