Incidence of influenza and COVID-19 decreased in Kyrgyzstan

Bishkek, March 25, 2024. / Kabar/. The incidence of acute respiratory viral infections and influenza, as well as COVID-19, is declining in Kyrgyzstan, the, the State Sanitary and Epidemiological Supervision Service reported.

According to operational data, in the 12th week of 2024 (03/18-03/25/24), 4058 cases of ARVI and influenza were registered in the republic, a decrease of -35% compared to the previous week. Of all cases, 70% are children under 14 years of age.

Since October, 1925 samples have been taken from patients; according to laboratory results, the epidemic season was caused by influenza A/H3N2. Since February (from week 05) there has been no isolation of influenza viruses.

There is a circulation of acute respiratory viral infections, with rhinovirus prevailing - 32.1%, RS virus - 24.8%, parainfluenza I-IV - 16.8%, other viruses accounted for 26.3%.

Weekly monitoring of the incidence of COVID-19 in the republic continues. During the 12th week, 8 cases were registered, of which 4 cases were in Bishkek, 3 in Osh, and 1 in Osh region.

Monitoring of the incidence of influenza, ARVI and COVID-19 throughout the republic continues, the epidemiological situation is under control.
