Bishkek, April 11, 2023. / Kabar/. There has been an increase in the incidence of meningitis and HIV in Kyrgyzstanduring 2 months of 2023, according to a report from the Department of Disease Prevention and State Sanitary and Epidemiological Supervision.
According to the document, there is an increase in the incidence of bacterial meningitis, 10 (0.1) cases were registered against 2 (0.0) cases in 2022. High rates were registered in Bishkek (0.6) and Chui region (0.2).
The total number of HIV-infected people increased by 16.7%, 192 cases (2.8) were registered against 149 cases (2.2) in 2022. The highest incidence rate is observed in Bishkek (6.2), Osh (3.7) and Issyk-Kul region (3.7).
