Bishkek, Dec. 27, 2022. / Kabar /. An inclusive taxi for people with disabilities has been launched in Bishkek for the first time, organizer Lidia Khvan told Kabar Agency.
The idea to open a special taxi arose due to the lack of this type of service in the local market.
“Every day, people with disabilities face the problem of access to transport. The city infrastructure is not adapted to the needs: ramps in trolleybuses and subways are non-working, do not meet the standards, sidewalks are in a deplorable state.
Inclusive taxi provides transportation of people with disabilities on specialized vehicles: a car equipped with a lift, wheelchair mounts, and allows to move customers without leaving the wheelchair. The inclusive taxi service is designed to serve people of all categories of disability,” Khvan said.
She also added that now the company has two cars: one with a lift, the other is a passenger car for people with disabilities who can move independently.
