Increase in incidence of chickenpox recorded in Kyrgyzstan

Bishkek, June 14, 2022. / Kabar /. A 7-fold increase in the incidence of chickenpox is recorded in Kyrgyzstan, compared to the same period in 2021.

Dinara Otorbaeva, Head of the Unit for the Prevention of Infectious, Parasitic Diseases and Epidemiological Surveillance of the Department for Disease Prevention and State Sanitary and Epidemiological Surveillance of the Ministry of Health of the Kyrgyz Republic, told reporters at Kabar News Agency that experts believe that this is due to the fact that people have relaxed and ceased to comply with sanitary rules.

Otorbaeva enumerated rules for the prevention of viral and respiratory infections:

- observance of the mask regime and social distancing;

- observance of respiratory hygiene: covering the mouth and nose when coughing and sneezing with tissues with their subsequent, proper removal;

- timely self-isolation of people who feel unwell, with high fever and other flu-like symptoms;

- compliance with sanitary and hygienic measures (hygiene of hands, regular ventilation of premises, wet cleaning, etc.)".
