Increase in respiratory diseases observed in Kyrgyz capital

Bishkek, June 16, 2022. /Kabar/. Residents of Bishkek have become more likely to suffer from respiratory diseases, Gulnara Sarieva, the general hygienist of the Department of Disease Prevention and State Sanitary and Epidemiological Surveillance of the Kyrgyz Health Ministry said during a press conference at Kabar News Agency.

She added that the state of the environment directly affects the health of the population.

"Thus, according to the National Statistics Committee, 217 thousand 211 cases of respiratory diseases were registered in 2021, which is several times higher than in 2020 (152 thousand 512 cases)," Sarieva noted.

The Department of Disease Prevention and State Sanitary and Epidemiological Surveillance highlights such forms of diseases as diseases of the respiratory organs, vision, nervous system, blood and circulatory system, birth defects and malignancies, poisoning is the most characteristic, officially recorded response to harmful environmental effects and reflects the long-term, chronic effects of the pollutant.
