Bishkek, Aug. 31, 2020. /Kabar/. Today, Aug. 31 Kyrgyzstan celebrates the Independence Day. An event to mark the 29th anniversary of the Independence Day of republic was held at the Ala-Too Central Square, the press service of the Kyrgyz president reported.
The event began with a theatrical prologue, which opened the theme of the historical path of the Kyrgyz people.
President Jeenbekov made a congratulatory speech at the event. In his speech, the Kyrgyz leader emphasized that it is the sacred duty of each of us to protect the independence of the state, the unity of the people, the integrity of our land.
Taking into account the pandemic, the event was held in online format, without the audience. Among the invitees were the heroes of today - medics, officers of the internal affairs bodies, the Ministry of Emergency Situations, servicemen who served hard during the peak period of the pandemic outbreak. Child volunteers who donated their accumulated funds to fight the coronavirus infection were also invited to the event, they were presented with tablets on behalf of the head of state.
Before the event, President Jeenbekov talked to the children and wished them success in their studies, happiness and fulfillment of their wishes. "May there be many children like you, patriotic and educated. You are the future of Kyrgyzstan," Sooronbay Jeenbekov noted.
The event to mark the 29th anniversary of the Independence Day of Kyrgyzstan ended with a concert program.
It was attended by Speaker of the Parliament Dastanbek Dzhumabekov, Prime Minister Kubatbek Boronov, Chairwoman of the Supreme Court Gulbara Kaliyeva, former President Roza Otunbayeva, Chief of General Staff of the Armed Forces Raimberdi Duishenbiyev, Bishkek Mayor Aziz Surakmatov.
A festive firework will take place in Bishkek in the evening.
