Bishkek, Dec. 15, 2021 . / Kabar /. A trilateral working group of India, Iran and Uzbekistan again organized a virtual meeting on the implementation of a joint plan on transport communication through Chabahar Port, Uzreport.uz reported with reference to the press service of the Uzbek Transport Ministry.
The parties exchanged views on effective use of the potential of this transport-transit and logistics hub, as well as the development of mutually beneficial links in the field of transport corridors connecting the Central Asian region with the Chabahar Port.
By the way, Chabahar is an important port for access to countries in the region. Currently, it has port infrastructure and strategic facilities for unloading and loading up to 15 million tons of goods per year. This sea gateway, due to its strategic position, can play a key role in the transportation of goods from Central Asian countries.
Representatives of Iran and India are currently implementing investment projects to develop the infrastructure of this port, as well as conditions for its use by foreign countries.
As a result, the parties agreed to work together to study issues of organizing cargo transportation, optimizing tariffs, timing and safety of cargo delivery through the port.
