Ministers of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan Ruslan Kazakbaev and India Subrahmanyam Jaishankar discussed a wide range of bilateral interaction and cooperation issues on the margins of the Summit of the Council of Heads of State of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO).
The sides discussed political, trade and economic and cultural and humanitarian issues, the press service of the Kyrgyz Foreign Ministry said.
"Special attention was paid to the implementation of such joint Kyrgyz-Indian projects as the expansion of the Telemedicine project and the resumption of the joint Kyrgyz-Indian educational IT center in Bishkek. In addition, gratitude was expressed to the Indian side for the initiative to provide grant assistance in the amount of $30 million for projects with a quick effect," the report said.
The two foreign ministers agreed to consider the possibility of opening an additional direct flight on the Delhi-Bishkek-Delhi route in order to increase the tourist flow between the countries and further develop cooperation in the field of education.
Minister Ruslan Kazakbaev asked the Indian side to support Kyrgyzstan’s candidacy to the UN Human Rights Council for 2023-2025 and to non-permanent members of the UNSC for 2027-2028.
As a result, the sides stressed the need to deepen political contacts between the two countries, including by continuing the exchange of mutual visits at the high and highest levels.
"Kyrgyz Foreign Minister Kazakbaev invited his Indian counterpart to pay an official visit to Kyrgyzstan at any time convenient for him," the report said.
