Bishkek, Aug. 26, 2024. / Kabar/. Ambassador of Kyrgyzstan to India Askar Beshimov held a meeting with Vice President of IndiGo for Aviation Policy and Industry Rajan Malhotra on the issue of opening flights on the Delhi-Bishkek-Delhi route.
The diplomatic mission reported that during the meeting Malhotra announced the readiness of IndiGo to launch flights on the Delhi-Bishkek-Delhi route.
The company has been appointed as the official carrier by the Government of India and has received permission to operate flights on this route 7 days a week.
Beshimov expressed his readiness to provide all possible assistance in further promoting this issue and noted that for Indian citizens who have long-term multiple-entry visas to the United States, Great Britain and the Schengen area, a visa-free regime is provided for up to 7 days with the right to re-enter after 21 days.
The parties agreed to cooperate in the field of tourism by sending group tourists from India to Kyrgyzstan, preparing and conducting relevant advertising campaigns, strengthening ties between travel companies, etc.
IndiGo is the largest airline in India in terms of the number of passengers carried and the size of its fleet, with a domestic market share of 61.6% as of May 2024.
As of August 2024, IndiGo operates more than 2,000 daily flights to 122 destinations - 88 domestic and 34 international. Its main hub is Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi.
