India's Foreign Minister Sushma Swaraj will tour Central Asia in August, which includes Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan, to expand ties with that region, according to the Foreign Ministry.
In Astana, the Foreign Minister will hold a meeting with her Kazakh counterpart, Kairat Abdrakhmanov, during the visit on Thursday and Friday.
She will also meet with the country's leaders and interact with the Indian community, said the Indian Foreign Affairs Portfolio.
India and Kazakhstan have a close strategic partnership, which was strengthened with the visit of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to that country in 2015 and during the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Summit in 2017.
Meetings outside the SCO and the Nuclear Safety summits were also held to maintain the growth of relations.
Subsequently, Swaraj will have the next stage of his tour in Kyrgyzstan (Friday and Saturday), where she will interact with Erlan Abdyldaev, Minister of Foreign Affairs.
India and Kyrgyzstan share multidimensional relationships that include politics, parliamentary, defense, science, and technology and health.
In the last segment of her tour of Central Asia, Swaraj will arrive in Tashkent on August 4 to hold talks with her counterpart Abdulaziz Kamilov.
India and Uzbekistan enjoy a close strategic partnership. Relationships were strengthened through regular high-level interactions.
Recently, Swaraj received the Uzbek Foreign Minister on work visits in 2017 and 2018, and also met with him outside the SCO in April 2018.
