Indian strain of coronovirus reaches Uzbekistan

Bishkek, June 25, 2021 . / Kabar / . The Indian strain of coronovirus has entered Uzbekistan, most likely from Russia, Deputy Director of the Center of Advanced Technologies of the Ministry of Innovative Development of the republic Alisher Abdullayev said.

According to him, there is influence of this strain in the growth of coronavirus disease among the population of Uzbekistan, but insignificant.

The main reason is the low percentage of vaccinated people, the reluctance of people to get vaccinated, the so-called covid dissidence, and the absolute disregard of people for social distancing and other quarantine restrictions leads to an increase in the incidence of the disease," the specialist noted.

As of June 23, Uzbekistan's number of COVID-19 cases had reached 107,708 (+442), and the death toll has amounted to 723.

103,472 people (96%) have cured and 3,513 patients remain in medical facilities.
